Dovetail X hosted the first screening of the documentary Design Disruptors in New Zealand last month. If you haven't seen it, don't miss any chance you get to do so.

The film provides an exclusive look into the processes, perspectives, and approaches of the product design and user experience (UX) leaders at the world’s foremost technology companies, including Airbnb, Coursera, Dropbox, Etsy, Eventbrite, Evernote, Facebook, Google Ventures, HubSpot, MailChimp, Netflix, Pinterest, Salesforce, Spotify, Twitter, Xero, Zendesk, and more.

There were so many good takeaways, amongst them the idea that designers come from all sorts of fields, many unexpected. Design has gone from being thought of as something artistic to something strategic. Recognising and solving problems, unearthing opportunities, and certainly disrupting things. These are things we understand well at Dovetail X, they are the motivation for creating a platform that enables great minds to collaborate, no matter where they live, no matter what their job. Disruption is good for design.
